1 . 1 Assessment the range of groups and individuals in whose communication demands must be dealt with in your role.
Communication can be defined as " The imparting or perhaps exchanging of information by speaking, writing, or perhaps using a few other medium” (Oxford online book 2015)
Within my role as Home Director there are many individuals and groups of people whose communication requirements must be dealt with. Service Users – Virtually all service users within the home have some degree of Dementia/Alzheimer's. Relatives and friends of services users – Not all of such are able to go to the unit. Enquirers – People who are enquiring about vacancies within the home both equally for staffing requirements and foundation availability. Staff – Inside the service We manage a number of workers including Facilitators, Trained Health professional, Care co-workers, Housekeepers and Kitchen personnel. Company – Within the firm I need to contact a whole range of men and women including my personal regional supervisor, area administrator, the training section, works and projects office, HR office. Health professionals – This includes The G. G, Social staff, District Healthcare professionals, Dietician, Therapy team, protecting team. Managing authorities – This includes The CQC plus the local PCT/CCG who commission rate services in the home. Repair teams – Examples of for instance , gardeners, electricians and plumbers. Suppliers – Examples include the pharmacy, meals suppliers, and medical provider. The above list is not exhaustive, although contains the key groups of people with whom interaction is of crucial importance. Conversation with all of these kinds of groups is exclusive and takes many forms (these will probably be discussed later on in the unit) Unit 501

1 . 2 Clarify how to support effective conversation within your function. In order to support effective interaction it is 1st necessary to look at exactly what " communication” means. The definition utilized in section 1 ) 1 is an extremely basic 1, but almost all methods of interaction have collection steps.

Source – This is the person initiating the communication and so they need to be very clear about what, just how and how come they are interacting. Mental communication may be the use of used words to share a message, nonverbal communication can be writing/symbols, gestures etc . To be able to support powerful communication I want to understand the previously mentioned cycle and all sorts of the steps inside it. I will act as the source and the receiver even though communicating at work. I need to ensure that I are utilising routine of communicating with the individual person/groups. For example e-mails might be the simplest way to order products, but to simplify a specific issue I may need to telephone the supplier to talk about available options. Since Home supervisor I need to make use of all offered mediums to make certain communication works well this includes (but is not really limited to) Face-to-face discussion/telephone calls
